Walking along new cultural trails

It will take place on June 20 and 21, 2026, as part of the Baltic Manors Festival.

The “MittsommerRemise” in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania invites you to a summer outing in the countryside for an entire weekend. Look forward to insights into the newly revitalized cultural heritage of the estates and manor houses in the hinterland of the Baltic Sea. Like pearls on a string, the historic mansions dot the landscape. They are shining witnesses to centuries of history and are linked by eras, people, and destinies. On the path to a new European Cultural Route, the manor houses in seven countries around the Baltic Sea are coming together.

Stroll along new cultural routes in the countryside. Get to know the estate lords and ladies of the manor, and learn more about the history spanning more than 400 years.

Stroll through parks and explore ruins or beautifully restored houses. Enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of a balmy summer evening against the backdrop of this cultural beacon of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Guided tours of the house and park, sound experiences, and exhibitions are offered. A diverse blend of stories, history, and culture awaits you. At the MittsommerRemise, you’ll get a glimpse behind the facades of the historic manor houses and speak with the people who are breathing new life into these old places. Ruins, privately owned estates, and manor houses converted into hotels open their doors and gates.

Shuttle Buses

The shuttle buses operated by RUX will run again this year on both days from locations including Rostock, Wismar, Schwerin, Greifswald, and Neustrelitz. New this year is a guided bus tour from Neustrelitz on both days in an exclusive 16-seater bus, during which you’ll also see houses that aren’t participating in the MittsommerRemise.

New: Bike tours and a hike

This year, the Lake District is offering brand-new guided bike tours for the MittsommerRemise. On Saturday and Sunday, a tour will take you around Feldberg and includes visits to two manor houses as well as the Hans Fallada Museum. On Saturday, Robert Behrendt from Seenplatte-Guide  will lead the guided bike tour around Malchin. He will also lead the tour on Sunday, which starts at the Ivenacker Eichen and includes a visit to Kummerow Castle as well as a cello concert in Scharpzow. (These tours were made possible with support from the LEADER Program Seenplatte)
