The Rossin Manor House, with its consistently simple design, is a remarkable Neoclassical building that never ceases to surprise visitors. Inside, the house reveals an impressive interior that bears witness to the artistic and cultural sensibilities of its builder, August Friedrich Theodor Kolbe. Built in 1836, four columns flank the staircase running along a north-south axis and support the centrally located octagonal glass dome. Much like a sundial, light streams through this dome into the spacious staircase. Dr. Heinrich Berghaus—a professor of applied mathematics at the Berlin Academy of Architecture in 1824, as well as a geodesist and cartographer—mentioned the Rossin estate in his “Landbuch Herzogthum Stettin 1865” as one of the most beautiful estates in the Anklam district. Since 2020, the manor house has been undergoing careful restoration. Drawing on its history and holding its architectural heritage in high regard, the management regularly makes the spacious rooms available for cultural events. Art and craft seminars are becoming established. Now that the south facade has been extensively renovated in 2023 and has been restored to its original condition and splendor, we are confident in moving forward with the main portal.

At this Midsummer Remise, we’ll share our plans and details about the craft workshops, and showcase a photo exhibition by various photographers. We’ll serve coffee and cake during the talks and guided tours.
