Bernstorf Castle near Grevesmühlen is a place steeped in history and full of character.

From 1879 to 1882, the castle was built for the von Bernstorff family in the Dutch Neo-Renaissance style, featuring a facade of brick and sandstone on a fieldstone base. The von Bernstorff family retained ownership of the manor until 1945, after which the castle served, among other things, as a military hospital, an elementary school, and a residential home. In 2010, Dr. Wolfgang Röhr acquired the heavily damaged castle. Between 2010 and 2014, it underwent extensive renovation and has since housed the family-run Bernstorf Castle Hospice. An old penance stone, nestled in a sprawling park with a lake, still serves as a reminder of the mansion’s turbulent past.

After expenses are deducted, all proceeds from this event will go exclusively to the hospice.
