Schloss Badow

Nordwestmecklenburg

First mentioned in a document in 1230, Badow was once one of the oldest and largest estates in the region. The manor house stands on the edge of a spacious park featuring avenues of linden and chestnut trees, ancient oaks, monumental yews, and several dendrological curiosities.
Following a fire, the von Döring family—who had owned the estate since 1700—had the current building constructed in 1906 in the Neo-Baroque style on top of the 17th-century cellar vaults, based on plans by architect Paul Korff.
Today, the manor house offers vacation apartments with upscale amenities. Badow is home to a small herd of horses. A special feature is the collection of historic carriages.
