Welcome to Viecheln Manor – Where history meets warmth and tolerance

Immerse yourself in a world of charm and elegance! Since 1869, this venerable manor house—built by Wilhelm Blohm in the magnificent English Gothic Tudor style based on designs by the renowned architect Heinrich Thormann—has stood majestically amidst the idyllic Mecklenburg park landscape. Back in private ownership since 2020, it offers vacation apartments and guest rooms, a sauna oasis, yoga retreats, cultural events, and much more. 

The hosts will open their doors on both days, and during the guided tours, they’ll offer insights not only into the premises but also into the estate’s history—from its origins through the post-war period and the GDR era to the present day. They’ll discuss the architecture and artistic design; of course, little anecdotes are a must—or do you already know the story of the missing duck? You can look forward to lovingly designed salons, a light-filled winter garden, and a cozy library. Every wall color, every piece of furniture, and every work of art has been selected with great love and care, down to the smallest detail.

Enjoy the garden’s full bloom with a summer drink and barbecue fare from our Viecheln Fire Department Association, and stroll through our sprawling park dating back to 1770. Between the old castle ramparts, sparkling ponds, and rare giant trees, you’ll find the perfect oasis of tranquility to unwind.

Berlin-based artist Maximilian Zeitler will be visiting us and creating unique portraits on-site using a historic large-format camera. What makes this special: Your photograph will be hand-printed on glass or aluminum in a mobile darkroom tent.
