Vogelsang is situated in a beautiful, rolling landscape shaped by the Ice Age. The Neo-Gothic manor house, featuring distinctive design elements from the “Schinkel school,” dates back to the mid-19th century. The manor house is one of the most magnificent Neo-Gothic buildings in Mecklenburg. The structure is a two-story plastered brick building with a flat hipped roof and a continuous crenellated parapet. Central risalits on the courtyard façade and rear of the manor house further emphasize the entrances with their projecting open staircases. Furthermore, the symmetrically arranged towers underscore the imposing architecture. But the pointed-arch doors and side windows, which are also featured as design elements inside the house, immediately catch the visitor’s eye. After standing vacant for 26 years, this gem is currently being brought back to life.
