Burg Klempenow

Klempenow Castle is a medieval castle complex in the Lake District, located directly on the Tollense River. Built by the Dukes of Pomerania, it has been owned by the noble von Heydebreck family since the mid-14th century. An association is currently overseeing its restoration. Today, Klempenow Castle serves as a venue for culture and community gatherings. There are guided tours, exhibitions, and a café; KELKER and the canoe rental station are open.
We kick off the Midsummer Remise on Friday with Music+Transformation.
This natural retreat at the confluence of the Landgraben and Tollense rivers combines historic ruins with contemporary music. Listening habits are experienced firsthand, and access to diverse sound qualities is expanded. In a moment of collective creative discovery of experimental music, the concert stage becomes a place of encounter.
Experienced musicians explore new sonic spaces, creating their own “audiophony” in the minds of the audience. This new way of hearing brings about change, a transformation of consciousness: what was, what will be different; what music? “I am not (just) a brain” (M. Gabriel). Music is an experience… which one?!… new beauty!

- Klaus Duschat, metal sculptures (Brewery Room / outdoor area) June 5 – July 19
- KELKER - Women’s Handicrafts: Artistic ceramics by Wilfriede Maass, functional ceramics, and selected kilims from the Orient (sales exhibition)
- Bronze Age Exhibition (permanent exhibition in the south wing)
