Schloss Kaeselow
Historic manor house with castle character
The Kaeselow Castle manor house is located west of Schwerin and was built around 1860 in the Tudor Gothic style.
The historic estate house “Schloss Kaeselow” is located 20 km west of Schwerin and covers approximately 740 square meters on a 22,000-square-meter property. The new owners, Claudia Steinlechner and Vincent Grundke, have been living their lifelong dream here since the fall of 2024 and are gradually beginning to build their passion project.
Future plans include renting out vacation apartments and the venue, as well as hosting events.
For many years, the stately castle hall also served as an official branch of the registry office. The house and grounds had previously been lovingly maintained by the Gerd-Rainer Hienstorfer family since 1992. Around 1860, Privy Councilor Heinrich von Brock had the stately manor house built in the Tudor Gothic style. It was owned by the von Oertzen family from 1878 and by the von Both family from 1901 to 1945. The house has weathered the ages without major external changes. In the tranquil park, accessible via an open staircase through the winter garden, visitors can admire not only chickens and geese roaming freely but also a grove of old trees.
Across an enchanted bridge, a small island invites you to linger; the old “Burgsee” awaits its restoration; and on the large open space in front of the house, you can relax wonderfully on picnic blankets among old chestnut trees.

Claudia & Vincent have fulfilled their dream of owning their own castle. For years, they searched all across the beautiful state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania—simply following their instincts and wherever the journey took them—until Kaeselow Castle found its way to them. “It’s truly a labor of love for us! The house was here long before we were, and it will still be here long after we’re gone—we’re infinitely happy and grateful that we get to be a part of its story!”
