A bit of history:

In 1842, Count Ludwig II von Blücher had a castle built in the Lebbin district, outside the estate grounds of the time. As early as 1843, the town of Göhren-Lebbin was renamed “Blücher.” In 1871, the entire estate passed to Hubert von Thiele-Winckler. After a devastating fire in 1912, Raban von Thiele-Winckler reconstructed the castle in 1914 in a simple, Baroque-inspired style. In 1926, the estate was leased. In 1933–34, it was sold to the “Deutsche Erde” Siedlungsgesellschaft mbH and to Major Erich Barfurth. During World War II, the castle was used as a school and living quarters; from 1945 onward, it served various purposes, such as a military hospital, a kindergarten, or the administration of a collective farm (LPG). In 1973, the Kohlekontor Berlin began renovations, and in 1979, it was converted into a vacation home. In 1990, it was operated as a hotel under the name “Schloss Blücher.” Following extensive restoration beginning in 1997, it opened on April 28, 2000, as the Radisson SAS Resort Schloss Fleesensee. Further name changes and modernizations followed, most recently in 2015 with the new name “SCHLOSS Hotel Fleesensee.” Since 2016, all areas have undergone comprehensive renovation, with work scheduled for completion in 2021.
