The mansion has a floor area of 700 square meters and a 1.7-hectare park. Renovation began in 2023. The property is set to be converted into an event venue. Future phases will include the addition of several guest rooms, vacation apartments, a private living area, and the operation of a castle café.

The new owners envision a wedding room, a wedding suite, as well as banquet and concert halls. The house is already open to visitors on specific dates during the season.

Schönhof Manor is a 13-axis, late-Classical, two-story building from the 18th century. A 5-axis extension was added in the 1920s. Due to its size, it is also referred to as “Schönhof Castle.”

The imposing house, which is also referred to as a castle due to its size, exudes an elegantly understated charm. The original structure, dating from 1750, was built by the von Bassewitz family. It was acquired by the Langenbecks and expanded to its current size around 1860. The massive pillars in the basement support an impressive vaulted ceiling. Inside the house is a spacious staircase connecting the vestibule on the ground floor with the hall on the upper floor. There are also three paneled cabinets that have been preserved and likely date to the late Baroque period; elements of the doors suggest the Tudor style.
