Gutshaus Ludorf

Romantic hotel & restaurant

On the shores of Lake Müritz, with the national park right on your doorstep. Historic village church, marina, and plenty of water sports opportunities. Restaurant serving regional specialties.

Ludorf Manor – the gateway to Müritz National Park

The aristocratic atmosphere of the authentically restored Ludorf manor house, dating back to 1698, transports guests back to a time when people lived in harmony with nature, and that was still the measure of all things. The family-run hotel offers individually designed rooms and apartments, a library with a fireplace, and an excellent restaurant that uses almost exclusively regional products. The experienced chef at the “Morizaner” restaurant is Thomas Koepke; he loves the authentic flavor of quality ingredients and reinterprets traditional dishes in a modern way. The restaurant is a SLOW FOOD supporter and is recommended by the Michelin Guide. Guests say: “Excellent hotel. Fantastic service. Great location. Great atmosphere.”

Family celebrations, weddings, and seminars are also held here—in the summer, often outdoors in the park, and in the winter in the Baroque Hall with its unique ceiling paintings.

Thousands of cranes rest right around the Ludorf estate in the fall and spring. Nature tours allow guests to experience this natural spectacle. White-tailed eagles and ospreys live in the Müritz National Park and are impressive evidence of this pristine natural landscape. The Ludorf manor house is one of the oldest in the state, and the structures of the estate village are still well-preserved. A unique octagonal church in the village stands as a stone testament to the estate village’s long history and also serves as the meeting point for a one-of-a-kind historical tour titled “1,000 Years of Mecklenburg.” Guided tours are conducted on weekends by the senior or junior owner personally.

After just 800 meters through the estate park, you reach Lake Müritz with its marina featuring 40 berths. Water sports of all kinds are therefore part of the estate’s offerings. Guests can go sailing on Lake Müritz.

In addition to nature and enjoyment, relaxation and well-being are a real added value—even for a longer stay. Guests can book massages, use the sauna, and participate in yoga or exercise classes.

The Achtenhagen family and their team want to make you feel as though you’re visiting the countryside in one of Mecklenburg’s traditional manor houses.

In 1998, Keril and Manfred Achtenhagen purchased the dilapidated Ludorf manor house from the municipality of Ludorf and carefully restored it with considerable effort. The Morizaner restaurant opened in 1999, followed by the hotel in 2000. Since 2009, the property has been a member of the Romantik Hotels marketing cooperative.
