Gutshaus Landsdorf

Vacation apartments and granaries for events

Landsdorf – The name says it all, as it describes a small settlement in a rural area. Yet it gives no hint that Landsdorf is, in many ways, a hidden gem.

The rarity of the village layout is impossible to miss to the observant eye. The 19th-century Neoclassical manor house, together with the historic granary, the former coach house, the ice house and chicken coop, and the gardener’s house in the “Swiss style” of K. F. Schinkel, forms a historically protected complex.

With the vacation apartments in the manor house and the Landsdorf guesthouse, there are two accommodation options available.

The manor house is situated in a beautiful park spanning several hectares. The spaciousness and diversity of the grounds create the feeling of stepping into a world of its own upon entering the estate. Beech and fir forests, rare solitary trees, a perennial garden, an orchard meadow, a kitchen garden, and a large pond blend together and alternate throughout the grounds. Guests are invited to stroll through the park, rest in a deck chair, and listen to the wind and the chorus of frogs. The brave may venture into the pond to cool off. Lake Eixener, located just a few kilometers away, is ideal for swimming. The Baltic Sea beach can be reached in 45 minutes. In fact, Landsdorf is also a hub for modern art and design. Various sculptures can be found in the park. Works by contemporary artists and our interior design define the atmosphere of the four vacation apartments in the manor house. Each room offers a unique view of the park.

The Landsdorf guesthouse is hidden behind the brick facade of the old coach house. In designing it, we set out to preserve the charm of the former farm building while implementing a modern spatial concept. The accommodation is characterized by a clean design that doesn’t lack coziness. Modern art and design classics also set the tone here. A total of two suites and ten rooms were created. Since the layout of the manor house unfortunately did not allow for the creation of accessible accommodations there, this was made possible in the coach house.

With the high-quality spring mattresses and the additional topper, special attention was paid to sleeping comfort. To accommodate guests’ personal sleeping habits, pillows of various sizes are provided.

When the weather is nice, guests can relax on the spacious terrace or enjoy the garden area of the granary.

The guesthouse, in conjunction with the granary, is ideal for accommodating seminar attendees. Our yoga enthusiasts love the small rooms under the roof. Bridal couples naturally choose to host their closest guests here. The various rooms, combined with culinary offerings and the spaces in the granary, are also perfect for family celebrations. During the annual Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, artists stay here.

Last but not least, the former coach house is an ideal stopover on any round trip. Fortunately, Landsdorf is situated in such a way that many cultural and sporting day trips can be started from here. The three Hanseatic cities of Rostock, Greifswald, and Stralsund, as well as the coast, are no more than 50 km away.

Today, the Landsdorf Granary hosts weddings and family celebrations, incentive events, and yoga retreats, and serves as a venue for the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. Historic wooden elements, partially exposed brickwork, and wide glass facades define the character of this former functional building. The spacious, light-filled rooms can also be rented individually and are therefore suitable for a wide variety of occasions.

In addition to the interior, the outdoor area also plays a significant role in defining the charm and uniqueness of the location. The garden behind the granary is a beautiful spot to say “I do”—civil weddings are permitted here. The sun shines on the spacious terrace from noon until sunset. From here, the view stretches out over the vast Mecklenburg-Vorpommern landscape. While the fireplace in front of the bar radiates cozy warmth in winter, the crackling bonfire behind the granary invites guests to linger and socialize, especially during the other seasons. The spaciousness of the venue offers a wide variety of nooks and crannies, allowing every event to be uniquely tailored. At the same time, there are welcoming open spaces that add significant value depending on the occasion.

If you’re looking for the perfect spot for a creative or active getaway, you’ll find it in Landsdorf. Throughout the year, we host various yoga retreats and watercolor workshops. On Tuesdays, Katharina teaches Pilates. Cyclists love to plan their routes from here. The nearest golf course is just half an hour away.

Last but not least, Landsdorf is a place for connoisseurs.

Dinner events and Sunday café

The Landsdorf breakfast is served for a delightful start to the day. Dinner can also be prepared for guests upon request. "Dinner with Friends" is in high demand, and "Happy Pizza Fridays" and "David’s Burger Night" are very popular. During the gardening season from April to September, the Sunday Café is open. In addition to homemade cakes and café specialties, the menu also features hearty dishes.

The gates to the estate park are open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Guests are invited to take a Sunday stroll. The botanical diversity attracts not only garden lovers but also anyone who wants to enjoy the relaxing tranquility of the garden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Guest at ...

In 2001, our family discovered Landsdorf and sensed the hidden beauty behind the crumbling facade and within the overgrown grounds. We have been living and working here for more than twenty years, spanning three generations. Welcoming our guests for a wide variety of occasions is a labor of love for us.

We are proud that the Kornspeicher received the “Nordkurier Venue Award” as part of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival and was honored with the “State Architecture Award” in 2016.
