Private house with herb and vegetable garden.
A Vision for Streithof: Good Living – The Streithof Workshops
Set amidst the vast and tranquil landscapes of southern Western Pomerania, Gutshaus Streithof lies on the Randow Plateau in a wonderfully secluded setting. The estate is currently undergoing restoration, while three generations of remarkable women bring new life to the park, gardens and manor house. The next phase of renewal will focus on the extensive restoration of the manor and its impressive fieldstone barn. Work has been ongoing since early 2019.
A Vision for Streithof: Good Living – The Streithof Workshops
Until 30 June 1939, Streithof was a traditional manor estate with all the privileges associated with that status. After the war, 146 people lived in the house, attic and cellar. During the GDR era, the manor was divided into apartments and altered several times. The current owners acquired the property as a future family home and have been restoring it privately ever since.
Claudia-Maria Humeniuk’s vision for Streithof is rooted in the cultural heritage of historic estates. The manor house is being carefully restored and upgraded to modern energy standards. Once completed, it will offer holiday apartments. Particular attention is being paid to preserving and replanting the historic park.
The granary and barns are planned to become the *Streithof Workshops*, a place for exchange and creativity within the Szczecin metropolitan region. Residents from nearby villages and towns, together with people from Szczecin, will be invited to share traditional skills and knowledge that might otherwise be forgotten.
Plans include a communal kitchen with a clay oven, a repair workshop, a woodworking shop, a music workshop and an artist’s studio using local clay. At the heart of the project is the idea of bringing together older generations and the many young families and children who have returned to the region.
The upper floor of the granary will house a rehearsal and recording studio for musicians. In keeping with the spirit of the workshops, the rooms will also serve as spaces for classes and educational activities.
