Gut Neuensund

Baroque estate ensemble in Western Pomerania

Available for rent to groups or families for seminars, retreats, and countryside vacations. Features a large indoor riding arena, a café, and glamping in the summer.

Neuensund Estate is situated in the heart of a sprawling nature reserve, surrounded by ancient beech forests, fields, and lakes.

The Baroque estate complex uniquely blends history and nature. The late 18th-century estate, built between 1764 and 1785 by the von Arnim family, has largely retained its original structure to this day. Around 1840, the park was redesigned according to plans by Peter Joseph Lenné. After World War II, the manor house underwent various uses and significant structural changes before it was vacated and secured in 1995.

Since the 2000s, the complex has been gradually and carefully restored. The first buildings have been refurbished, and 8 guest rooms as well as spaces for retreats, seminars, and events are available in the steward’s house. A modern indoor riding arena complements the offerings and makes the estate a destination for equestrian seminars and guests seeking tranquility. The goal is to preserve the historical substance while creating a contemporary place of inspiration. Since 2025, it has been in the hands of Nina and Albrecht Hollensteiner, who are continuing to develop the estate. Their small breeding program for Old Mecklenburg Warmblood horses has found a new home here. They have revived the cider press, opened a café with seasonal offerings, and in the summer, glamping tents are available for rent.

Neuensund is located north-northeast of Strasburg (Uckermark) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, within the “Brohmer Berge and Hellster Berge” landscape conservation area and the “Am Stettiner Haff” nature park. The town is characterized by the historic estate complex, the old village center with its medieval church, and the Fuchsberg with its observation tower—at nearly 180 meters, the second-highest peak in northern Germany. Nearby, the Schmiedegrundsee lake, with its swimming dock, invites visitors to swim and relax. Located at the northernmost tip of the Uckermark, Gut Neuensund offers wide-open spaces and views stretching all the way to the Brohmer Mountains. Nearby are the Galenbecker See bird sanctuary, the Klepelshagen nature paradise—home to the headquarters of the German Wildlife Foundation—and an extensive network of horseback riding trails leading to the Ueckermünder Heide and the Stettiner Haff.
