Burg Trechow
Monument of national importance
The Renaissance castle in Trechow is being renovated and converted into a cultural center.
Trechow Castle, built of granite blocks in the Early Renaissance style, was constructed between 1590 and 1601. Around 1800, the complex was converted into an Early Classical-style manor house featuring trompe-l'œil paintings.
Restoration and cultural use began in 2004. Since 2009, the castle has been listed as a monument of national significance. From 2008 to 2018, extensive restoration work was carried out to renovate the castle complex and the courtyard buildings. Currently, extensive construction work is underway to prepare the entire estate for extensive cultural use. The barn has been fully renovated and already serves as an event venue and festival site.
