On September 27, 1353, the former knight’s estate—now the Art and Culture Estate of the Heimvolkshochschule Vogelsang e.V.—was first mentioned in a historical document.

Over the past 600 years, the former knight’s estate was transformed into a manor house, which was built in 1853 and was also used as a hunting lodge for a time.

The manor house, which is over 170 years old, has been used by the Heimvolkshochschule Vogelsang e.V. since July 5, 1991, and is preserved as a cultural asset of Mecklenburg.

A small, dedicated group of volunteer association members aims to preserve the manor house for future generations and reimagine it as a non-profit, creative gathering place.
