Route in the Making
Baltic Manors is setting out on a new journey – and we invite you to come along.
Building on the network and tourism brand “Baltic Manors – Old places, new life”, partners across the Baltic Sea Region are now developing the Baltic Manors Route, with the aim of becoming a certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
There is a lot to do along the way and we want to share this journey with you. The Route is planned to open to visitors on 22 April 2027. The application for certification as a European Cultural Route is due to be submitted on 31 July 2027, and we hope to receive the official label in May 2028.
Until then, the Route will take shape step by step: through regional routes and visitor experiences, research and storytelling, meetings and discussions and, above all, through the people who care for manor heritage and bring new life to these historic places. Their ideas, experience and feedback will help shape what the Route becomes and how visitors will experience it in the future.
Route in the Making gives you a look behind the scenes. Follow the process from the first ideas to the major milestones, meet the people involved and discover how a shared vision gradually becomes a living European Cultural Route. We will share progress, questions, decisions and experiences from across the participating regions, including some of the challenges that are part of creating a route across borders.
And perhaps you would like to become part of it yourself. Whether you own or run a manor, work in tourism, culture or research, or simply share our enthusiasm for these remarkable places: follow the journey, join the conversation and become part of the Baltic Manors community.
