Tempted to visit them all, one after another? Go ahead — start planning your travel route and go festival hopping. This could become the most amazing manor-house summer of your life. Or take a little more time and explore the diversity of places and regional traditions season by season. The Baltic Manors Festival is a recurring event and will continue year after year. Either way, it means manor-house flair in seven different expressions: seven regions, seven distinct ways of bringing Baltic Manors to life. And above it all, the great shared cross-border fascination of Baltic Manors.
By the way
Inspired by the Festival, the idea emerged to seek official recognition for a European Cultural Route through the shared manor landscape of the Baltic Sea. With up to 20,000 houses in the hinterlands of the coasts, this region has the highest density of such buildings anywhere in the world — a unique diversity now being brought back to life by many creative manor pioneers and their tourism offers. As the Baltic Manors Route, all regions are setting out together in a new European spirit: to safeguard the future of this unique cultural heritage and make it an asset for everyone. In the coming years, regional manor-house routes will emerge around the Baltic Sea, waiting to be travelled and discovered – whether one by one, year after year, or as part of a longer journey across several regions.
